Hi

 

i want to install my Archer C1200 as a repeater or range extender and I would prefer not having to use LAN cables from my root router. Is that possible?

Hi @TusharB , the Archer C1200 does not support WDS bridge function, so we are not able to configure it as a repeater without cable connected. 

 

While you can configure it as an access point to extend the wifi range, in this way, the Archer C1200 need connect to the main router by wired cable.

Saw a video on youtube, was able to enable WDS mode and connect to my SSID, but couldn't connect to Internet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdQkQokZETk Any help pls ?

Hello, thanks for sharing.

 

Archer C2 supports WDS, so you can find it on its web GUI directly, while C1200 doesn't support WDS feature, so the guide here you shared may not work for TusharB.
