Telnet is locked down by TP-Link, try using dd-wrt

It was the first idea. But there is only available firmware for version 4 . In the dd wrt they said the v5 run slow with dd wrt. Do you have any how does it works?

I had a Archer C7 v4 in the past and couple of 841n routers with dd-wrt. They work fine, dd-wrt for v5 is avaliabe at, https://dd-wrt.com/support/other-downloads/?path=betas%2F2019%2F08-16-2019-r40672%2Ftplink_archer-c7-v5%2F

 

Make sure to follow the documentation during the installation.

Using DD-WRT is an good choice, however, it will be against the warranty.
