Wireless but no cable connection

Hi, my powerline booster is putting out a wireless signal but I need to run a Ethernet cable from it as well and the cable doesn't seem to have a connection to the network or internet. It says its an 'Unidenfified network, No network access' Are there some settings somewhere I need to change?
