Model: EAP230-Wall
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20200618 Rel. 39303(4555)

Running two EAP 230 here in standalone mode.

Configured just one SSID for both 2.4 and 5 ghz without any issue with same authentication on both 230's:

- WPA Personal

- WPA2-PSK

This all works fine initially. I can roam between the two EAP's without any problem.

Untill finally on one EAP the iphone does not want to connect anymore, while other devices still can.

What I've tried:

- "Forget" the network on the iphone and rejoin again. This is no solution.

Eventually I just reset the EAP which solved the issue 100%.

Normally I have only 5 wifi devices in the entire house.

I tried scheduling a reset in the web-interface but that does only seem to be available in the controller, which I don't think I need.

[EDIT]

I do see some warnings in the system logs like:

[CLIENT xxxhsdfs] failed to connected to [ap:s3223423423] with SSID "bla" on channel 1 because WPA Authentication times out/failed. (1 time in a minute)

Dear @WessMess,

If I understand it right, only the iPhone has the issue, and when you say reset the EAP, you just unplug the power cable and plug it back to restart the EAP, am I correct?

When you connect the EAP on your iPhone, how far are you away from the EAP? Do you get a good signal strength from the SSID?

Would it get connected after you move closer and stand right next to the EAP? Do you have the same issue on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

Since there are two EAPs, you may check if the issue only occurs when connecting to a specific EAP, try change channels for checking.

Besides, you could try changing the DTIM period to 3 and see if it helps.

Here is a screenshot where you can change the DTIM for 2.4GHz for your reference.

Best Regards!

@Fae

Yes only the Iphone has the issue. Other iphone and ipads don't have an issue.

Also when the AEP is reset (from webinterface) the problem is solved for like a week or so. After that it returns.

When the connection is there it's fine. One EAP is on 1st floor, other is at 3rd floor. When iphone can't connect to 3rd, I'm standing next to it.

I was thinking to schedule a nightly reboot for both EAP's but will need the OC200 for that. Would be a costly fix and an extra device which I don't really thought I needed with such a simple setup.

Will try the DTIM suggestion, thanks for that.
