Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.1

Hello,

I have two EAP 225's that I would like to connect together to share internet to a property next door.

In my house I have the first EAP225 mounted outside and connected to my router with an ethernet cable. On the house next door I have the second EAP225 mounted outside and powered over POE, there is no ethernet connection to the router on the second antenna. Is it possible to join the wifi network of antenna two which is getting it's internet connection from antenna one? If so how would I achieve this? I think this is considered mesh but the shop where I bought them says it isn't and it will work without a controller. Is this true?

Any help is appreciated.

@gunner2004

Hey

Yes this is deffinately possible to create a Mesh network with these devices.   However if memory serves me correct you need a controller to hand the mesh, your options are the Software Controller (if you have a server or device to run it) or a OC200 controller if not.   I went the OC200 and its really reasonably priced at ~£50 or $US 65  .

Ensure the controller is on SDN v4.2.8 or later, you may need to update it..  the enable the following in settings

If one of your EAP225s is connected via LAN to the Controller it will be the Primary Node, ADOPT it via the controller.    You will then see the other EAP225 available for adoption via WiFi.. adopt it and you have your Mesh

Hope that helps!!
