HI, I am looking to connect the EAP225 to TP router, but for the EAP225 to receive the signal from another WiFi Athena and pass to the inside of a building via the Ethernet cable off the back of the EAP225. I see the EAP225 is OMINI directional, so I assume connecting to the WAN on the router will then allow that router to broadcast the signal internal. 

 

The only other challenge is the WiFi signal is sat behind a captive portal, with no password, but just that it picks up your MAC and email when 1st connected. So I might need to spoof that. BUt the fundamental  question is, will the EAP 225 allow me to draw in a signal and pass to a router on the WAN socket.

 

Really appreciate your help.

I'm afraid connecting to the WAN on the router cannot work. The Omada EAP is just a wireless access point, it's required to hardwire the EAP to the existing LAN network via Ethernet cable to share the WiFi signal.

@Fae thanks for the response. However I have seen people connect security cameras to these as clients. So if you have multiple then yes the primary must be one connected to the LAN for internet but the client ones must have the ability. I see they are omni directional so by the nature they must go both ways. Can you confirm. Or should I be looking at a CPE version instead.

I assume that you are talking about this setup: Router(LAN)----EAP225 #1 )))((( EAP225 #2------wired clients.

 

If it's the case, then you may build the EAP mesh network to achieve it. For more info about the EAP mesh, please check this post.
