Hey guys, 

 

One question. Outside of my door I have placed one C200 camera and a Tapo L510 lightbulb. I have tried to make an automation from Tapo application so that when camera detects motion to activate the bulb for 2 minutes. BUT when i try to add this automation, the "Trigger device" in "add condition" menu is not active.

Is there a way to change this?

@D1m1tris  Hello,

so far only Tapo Bulbs supports Automation & Shortcut feature, not tapo camera or plugs.  Please kindly wait for firmware update in the future, appreciate your feedback!

Hello again.

 

Many months have passed but still we can't make automation and add camera in WHEN section - ADD CONDITION - TRIGGER DEVICE. when are you planing to activate this? it's just a firmware update.

Come on, it is not rocket science. Allow the motion detection to trigger tapo devices.

At this point, this camera is almost useless. There are many usability problems:

 

- It is not possible to automate actions triggered by motion detection

- It is not possible to automate privacy mode or to automatically enable/disable motion detection

- It is really complicated from the app to switch several cameras to privacy mode

 

Because of that, you are left with being flood with motion notifications, or to have notifications turned off most of the time.
