Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.7.3 Build 20201119 Rel.63433

Hello,

I have TP-Link Tapo C200 cam and sending data to Synology nas Surveillance center. I set on Omada OC200 figed IP address 192.168.0.50. Unfortunately DHCP server assigned different IP. Sometimes the server does not allocate any IP after restart. Tapo CAM is not possible set a fixed IP.

Where is mistake?

Pavel

@PavelV

I had a similar problem that a device wouldn't accept its fixed IP address. May not be of any help but worth considering. Bit of a timeline to explain what had happened:

Device 1 - Remove fixed IP (192.168.0.20)

Device 1 - Unplug

Device 2 - Plugin (gets assigned DHCP IP 192.168.0.111)

Device 2 - Assign fixed IP (192.168.0.20)

Device 2 - Reboot

Device 2 - Still assigned to DHCP IP of 192.168.0.111

No matter how many times i refreshed the IP on Device 2 it didnt work. I even left it 24hours and still no joy. The solution was to unplug Device 2, plug device 1 back in and make sure it gets another IP address allocated to it. Then i plugged device 1 back in and it worked.

So what i should have done is:

Device 1 - Remove fixed IP (192.168.0.20)

Device 1 - Reboot

Device 1 - Gets assigned (192.168.0.40)

Device 1 - Unplug

Device 2 - Plugin (gets assigned DHCP IP(192.168.0.111)

Device 2 - Assign static IP (192.168.0.20)

Device 2 - Reboot

Device 2 - Now has Static IP 192.168.0.20

you guys are doing this really wrong

what a proper DHCP workflow is

device (your IP cam etc) online -> device talk to DHCP(this will most likely on your router) and ask for IP assignment -> DHCP assign proper IP back to device -> device on net

what you guys are doing

device (your IP cam etc) online -> device talk to DHCP and say "hey my IP is 192.168.0.20" -> DHCP confused because it never assigned this IP out to this device, or worst case, this IP is in already use by another device on net -> DHCP probably decide to ignore the device self assigned IP and assign a proper one -> device on net with a different IP

so 99% of the chance, you do not want to assign a fixed IP on OC200 to your device and try to fool the DHCP server on your router

instead you should set a static assignment on your router's DHCP table so your device will always get a static IP through it!!

Dear @Adoril@PavelV,

May I know the model number of your gateway router, is it TL-R605 or ER7206?

Best Regards!

Dear @PavelV, @Adoril,

There is a beta firmware available for the TL-R605 router, which is related to the DHCP issue.

I'd like to forward you to the TP-Link support team to try the Beta firmware, they will contact you with your registered email address later.

Thank you for your support and trust. Have a nice day!

Best Regards!
