I am trying to set up email sending from the software controller (Version 4.1.5) and the settings for the mail serve allow you to tick SSL, but has no options for STARTTLS. My mail server requires TLS for authenticated connections, but expects a plain connection followed by STARTTLS to move to a secure connection.

This does not seem to be a supported configuration, so I am not able to send email at the moment, unless there is a workaround?

Dear @Ben.Suffolk,

I am trying to set up email sending from the software controller (Version 4.1.5) and the settings for the mail serve allow you to tick SSL, but has no options for STARTTLS. My mail server requires TLS for authenticated connections, but expects a plain connection followed by STARTTLS to move to a secure connection.

Try upgrading to Controller V4.2.4, tick SSL, and specify the port you need, check if it works for you.

The current SDN Controller doesn't support configuring Mail Server with STARTTLS, but there is a plan to support STARTTLS in v5.x.

At present, you may choose other mail servers instead, refer to this FAQ.

Best Regards!
